We Are Learning about Butterflies

First we listed what we knew about butterflies:

1. They have different colors.
2. They have a cocoon
3. They start as an egg and then grow into a caterpillar and they turn into a crysalys.They turn into a butterfly.
4. They turn into a worm and they eat a let of food to get bigger to turn into a butterfly.
5. They can fly.
6. The love to fly.
7. They have a job to flap their wings to fly.
8. They are symmetrical.
9. They are gushy.
10. Some people like butterfiles.
11. They have long tongues.
12. They have pretty colors.
13. They are not the same as moths.
14. They are cute.
15. They try to get air when they're flying.
16. Butterflies have 6 legs.

September 17	The caterpillar was crawling in the small plastic dish.
September 18	The caterpillar is 1 1/2 cm. long.
September 19	The caterpillar is growing. Today it is 1 3/4 cm long.
September 20	The caterpillar is still growing. Today it is 2 1/4 cm long.
September 21	The caterpillar is growing bigger. Today it is 3 cm long.
September 25	The caterpillars are in their new home. Some caterpillalrs are still in a "J". Next they will build a chrysalis. Others are making a chrysalis.
