Tables can be used on a Web page to accomplish several things:
The cells in a table can be either visible or invisible. Elementary
Schools is an example of a page using visible tables.
The Curriculum Resources page uses a number
of invisible tables to keep the graphics and the text anchored to a
particular position on the page.
Use this tool to create a table on your web page. Click, and the
following window will appear on the screen:
![]()
Use the window above to define the attributes of the table.
Border Line Width defines the width of the lines that borders the table.
Alignment controls the placement of the table on the page To control the alignment of the text or graphics within the cell, use the alignment tool from the toolbar.
Pixel Spacing Between Cells controls the thickness of the space between the cells.
Pixel Padding Within Cells controls the empty or blank space between the text within the cell and the edge of the cell.
I usually keep the Table Width set at a percentage and do not use pixels to define width. This way the width is relative to the page width and not set at an absolute value.
